08/24/10 The fall season is fast upon us and the monsoon weather has brought nice afternoon rains in Prescott. It's Simba the Doc's dog here to tell you all about what is happening in our practice. Now that my Doctor is back from her China safari we are busy getting the 3 practices geared up for our pre holiday season.
Southwest Skin and Cancer Institute, Body Oasis and Vein Specialties will be hosting an Open House and Health Fair on September 29th from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. Bow wow we love these days! Our Doctor teaches you humans how to care for your skin in the desert with lots of specials like the new Dysport (Botox alternative) for just $5.00 a unit. We will do free vein screening, laser and liquid fact lift consultations as well as free Visia computerized skin analysis. All my doggie friends will be there because there will be free refreshments and tours of all the clinics. Come see us in September for a younger healthier you, just in time for the holidays. See ya in September. Simba
05/25/10 Because I'm a dog and have lots of hair on my doggie body you can't see all the veins in my legs and on my face. Having a dermatologist for an owner I see plenty of people with vein problems in her practice. She always asks them, do your legs feel heavy, do they cramp at night? If they answer yes to any of these questions she whisks them up to our new Vein Specialties clinic and starts the ball rolling (dogs love this part). With a free consultation, and overall exam she can tell if there is an underlying problem. Along with ultrasound screening and EVLT laser surgery we have happy people walking around Prescott AZ in shorts again.
If they have small spider veins on their face or legs, she sends them to our laser tech Lisa, at Body Oasis to clean them up with our new Gentle Yag laser. Bow wow, are they ever happy! It's just another day that we are here to help make the world a more beautiful place. If you have any of the conditions I have yapped to you about today, give my doc a call at 928-778-0808 and see the magic she can do for you. It's Simba the doc's dog, talk to you soon.
04/20/10 Hi, it's Simba the Doc's dog here just enjoying the beautiful spring air. Everyone is starting to feel like a spring flower and looking for ways to feel rejuvenated. There is a way you can feel beautiful like a newly opened blossom too! It's called Radiesse, a liquid face lift! It only takes a few syringes and about a half hour to have you looking good as new. Radiesse is an injectible gel filler that helps to build up your own natural collagen. If you've always been afraid of needles like me (darn veterinarians and their big needles) there is no need to worry, my Doc uses lidocaine anesthetic so you will hardly feel a thing.
Using the Yag laser we have at Body Oasis, we can also heat the skin for collagen growth and then use the injectible fillers to fill in wrinkles and low spots on the face. Bow wow, do our patients look great! Most lose 5 to 10 years and are telling all their friends. Speaking of Body Oasis, summer is just around the corner and laser hair removal specials are in full swing. Contact Lisa with your questions and tell her Simba sent you!
Our newest sister business Vein Specialties will be having a Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting next month. I'm so looking forward to that! I will get to show off my new pedicure and eye lashes now that I'm using Latisse, the latest product in lash extension and growth that my Doc carries.
Don't forget all you cyber patients out there, we are at www.rejuvadoc.com ready and waiting to answer all your dermatology, vein and laser solution questions. You can also call us at 928-778-0414 to schedule your free beauty consultation specialized just for you. So enjoy your beautiful spring day! Until next time it's Simba!
02/23/10 Hi, Simba the doc's best friend here. It's "brrrrrr" cold in Prescott. The snow has been flying again and I'm ready for spring and a renewal. Speaking of a renewal, my doc has been on a vacation to the sun for some well deserved R & R and personal development. She will return home soon (gee I miss her) refreshed and rarin' to go. So all you who didn't get to see her for your Botox or your laser consultations before she left, she will be home soon to make you look like you have been the one on vacation! Give us a call (928-778-0414) and we will schedule your appointment to see the doc. I'm needing some touch up myself. Until next month, stay warm and enjoy the snow indoors with some warm milk. Simba
02/09/10 Love is in the air and to tell you the truth I have "Spring Fever". Even dogs think about the wonderful things we can do for the people who take such good care of us. Good thing my Doc has a medi-spa built into her dermatology clinic called Body Oasis.
If you love your master, and I do, send her or him on over to Body Oasis for a "Day of Beauty". Mix and match a day just for your sweetie with massage treatments like a chocolate body scrub with massage, deep tissue or reflexology as an add on. Give a manicure and pedicure with a paraffin dip add on. Or maybe some laser hair removal for the ultimate treat. (I personally like dog bones but I'm a dog.)
Call Body Oasis at 928-778-0414 and schedule your special spa day for the one you love or maybe just for the one who takes care of you every day. I know I am. I'll be barking at you soon. Love Simba
01/06/10 It's the New Year and my Doctor wants you to know the buzz words in her office for 2010 are, It's not "All Down Hill After Forty" at Body Oasis. Try being a dog; we add 7 years to our age, you only add one. I go to a groomer on a regular basis to keep my groove on but you don't need that kind of high maintenance beauty regime. You can come see my Doc for a New Year's make-over, with Botox injections, fillers or the Active FX Laser Resurfacing. Believe it or not, you could look 10 years younger with little or no down time. Now isn't that the cat's meow! Even us girl dogs want to look our best for the New Year. Call my Master and schedule your beauty make-over appointment today. Happy New Year! Ruff, Ruff. Simba
- 11/24/09 Simba the Doc's dog here. The holidays are in full swing and in northern Arizona that means winter weather and dry flaky skin. It just makes a person scratch with both back legs. This time of year my master sees a lot of patients due to dry skin conditions. I'm lucky to have two coats of hair that keep me warm and protect my skin in the winter but you humans have to suffer. To stave off itchy winter skin, here are some things to remember:
- Stop using those dryer sheets like Bounce, even the unscented ones makes a clean dog itch. Use Cling-free balls instead.
- Long, hot bubble baths or showers don't help the condition.
- A quick spritz without soap is the best bet.
- Moisturize with Eucerin Lotion after bathing.
- For extreme winter skin conditions see a Board Certified dermatologist like my Doc.
Now I'm off to get my holiday chew toy, Simba
11/01/09 Simba the Doc's dog here. Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays because of all the leftover giblets I get on my kibbles. But to some people, this holiday reminds them of their turkey neck. You know, that skin that hangs from their jowls and neck. Well the Dr. has a wonderful laser she calls the Active FX resurfacing laser that helps improve lax skin on your neck and eyelids and removes spots and wrinkles. Right now, she's running a special discount on the Active FX so you can look your best for the holidays. Our newest laser the GentleYag offers skin tightening on the face, neck, stomach and stretch marks. Who wouldn't want to get rid of their turkey waddle before the holidays? Take the time this holiday season to call my Doctor and get your gobble off for good!
Happy Eating, Simba
9/23/09 Today is the first day of fall and it makes me start to think about my costume for Halloween. Last year the Doc let me dress up like a werewolf because my face and legs were so hairy.
This year the Doc has a new laser called a Gentle Yag that will remove hair even on dark complexions. I'll be looking good in my new princess costume because all my long black hair is gone, especially under my arms and on my chin. Ohh La La - Lookout pooches!
If you ever dreamed of being a fairy princess for Halloween, come see the staff at Body Oasis for the dream look you have always wanted. Tell them Simba sent you to find out what the Gentle Yag can do for you.
See you trick or treating,
Simba the Doc's best friend.
8/14/09 Hi, it's Simba the Doc's dog here. Hey are you a "redneck"? Seriously, what I mean is your neck red? My Doc puts a red bandana on me cause she thinks I look so cute that way, but you humans don't always care for that red neck look. The reddish brown discoloration on your neck may actually be a condition caused by sun damage called poikiloderma of Civatte. Rosacea and broken capillaries can cause redness on cheeks. Well, do I have some good news for you! There is an easy solution. IPL, which stands for Intense Pulsed Light can fade the redness and dark spots on your neck as well as your face. Moreover, before you go outside in the sun don't spray photosensitizing chemicals like perfume on your neck, and a bandana is not such a bad idea to protect that neck from further sun damage! Here's barkin' at ya, Simba
7/15/09 Hi, it's Simba again. The dog days of summer are here. Let's face it, we live in Arizona where summer days are sizzling. I sure don't want my doc to suffer from premature aging so when I take my master for a walk in the early morning, I have to remind her to put on a hat, wear protective clothing (since she doesn't have fur) and use her topical Vitamin C & E antioxidants for sun protection. Sometimes when we walk I need a cool drink too. People are just like us dogs; we need skin protection and a cool area to lay down on. In my case, my fur (and your hair) are good sunblocks. OK, time for my siesta, byebye.
Simba
6/1/09 Hey, Simba here. Do you just want to relax this summer like me and not have to worry about whether or not you are protected from the harmful rays of the sun? I know people love to be outdoors now that the weather is so nice and everyone loves a great tan, but before you go you should check out my doc's article on Sunscreen. Bet you didn't know that sun block doesn't completely protect you from UVA rays! You should wear protective clothing (not everyone has fur you know) and maybe even try Vitamin C and E, but hey you will have to read the article and find out the rest and maybe even see the other great articles. Speaking of relaxing...I think I will take a nap now, see you next time!
Simba
4/24/09 Hi there. Just wanted to let you in on a little secret. On Saturday, May 2, we will be having a Spring Health Fair with demonstrations of Radiesse and Botox injections, spider vein treatments, free screenings for vein disease, tours, free food (yum), free drawings for skin care products and discounts on some of the services my doctor does at Southwest Skin & Cancer Institute and Body Oasis. You don't wanna miss this one!! Mark the date and come to 242 Whipple Street in Prescott from 10-2.
See ya there...Simba
4/18/09 Hi! Simba the doc's dog here. She asked me to tell you about the pesky black and white whiskers that show up on our faces. Although I have those hairs on my face (and must I say I look fabulous) you as humans don't like those unwanted hairs on your skin. My doctor can get rid of unwanted black whiskers with the GentleLase Laser in just 5 minutes and it's almost pain-free. For white whiskers the Epitron Hair Removal System works wonders. Give my doctor a call at 928-778-0414 for a free consultation or for any questions about getting rid of your whiskers.

2/2/09 Hi. I’m Simba, the Doc’s dog. You may wonder what I could possibly say of any relevance to this site. Well, I too am always trying to improve my appearance…and there’s nothing wrong with that! If you look great, you feel better about yourself, right?
Take my nose. It’s a little more curved than I’d like. And ya know, I just found out, there’s something that can be done, short of surgery. It’s called a non-surgical nose job using a filler called Radiesse. A little here, a little there and in just 10 minutes, the nose is straighter. And it doesn’t even hurt, because there’s xylocaine mixed in with the filler. How long does it last? Doc says most people get 8-12 months from one injection. If you'd like to see before and after photos, click here.
So, don’t just lie there, pick up the phone and call about that little thing that bothers you. There is probably an easy fix for it and hey, it’s a free consult with my Doc… you have nothing to lose.
Til next time......Simba
