Botox for Wrinkles

Botox is used to relax facial wrinkles around the brow, forehead, crow’s feet, lip, neck and chin.   Some of these creases make one look tired or angry and Botox helps soften your appearance or remove the creases altogether. Botox and its newer cousins, Xeomin and Dysport, are equally effective, usually having an effect within a week to ten days after the injection session.  By relaxing the facial muscles, the overlying skin can heal by producing new collagen, thus filling in the creases. One treatment lasts about 3-6 months before another session is necessary. This class of medication has been used safely for over 20 years and is the first step to a more youthful appearance. Combined with dermal fillers, Botox can take years off your appearance.

In addition, Botox can be used to reduce excessive underarm sweating for months. Botox is also very effective at relaxing tense jaw muscles which can cause TMJ or tooth-grinding. Finally Botox is very useful for stopping migraine headaches.
